Technical fault eyed as main cause of Boeing freighter crash — Lithuanian prosecution

VILNIUS, November 26. /TASS/. The Lithuanian prosecutor general has determined that a technical malfunction was to blame for the Boeing 737 freighter crash that happened on Monday near Vilnius international airport, Prosecutor Arturas Urbelis told reporters.
“Navigation data, eyewitness video footage, and expert assessments suggest there was no sudden descent or fall, but rather issues during landing – likely due to technical malfunctions or piloting challenges,” Urbelis said.
The investigation is proceeding from this theory, the prosecutor said. “This is the main theory. We are not investigating this as a terrorist act because there are no grounds for that at present,” he added.
The Boeing 737 that crashed was owned by the Spanish air carrier Swift Air, but was operated by delivery giant DHL. It was en route to Vilnius from Leipzig. The airplane crashed about a mile from the airport. One person on board died and three were injured.
